Our Process

Every project is different but we tend to work to the same framework every time. Using tried and tested technical project development processes, testing and iterating along the way.

Our Process
  • Discovery

    Half the battle of creative work is asking the right questions at the start of a project – we like to start out as we go on, always asking why. Why is this the right solution for this problem, why is this good for the audience, what can we learn, what can we teach the audience.

  • Design

    We follow user centred design principles. Taking all the information we can gather from the start of a project we develop ideas and work out all the potential elements of the audience’s experience – from their perspective.

  • Build

    We develop predominantly using Unreal Engine and we are able to work using Unity also. We have an extensive collection of all the latest headsets and controllers as well as access to the developer versions of next-generation hardware.

What do we mean by 'immersive technologies'?

The Challenge

There are several challenges that we’re aware of with both VR and AR.

There is a broad lack of knowledge of what VR/AR technology actually is and what it can do which is exacerbated by a lack of firsthand experience with the technology.

Although prices have fallen, the cost of high-end VR/AR hardware is still a major deterrent for consumers. This is less of an issue for enterprise.

Some hardware is still relatively difficult to set up. The headsets themselves are heavy and users have high expectations of visual fidelity. It’s a solitary experience and users have become used to (and have shown an appetite for) social experiences.

Our Solution

Having been through all these challenges with own game projects, with client projects and with partners we are well prepared to talk you through every aspect of your project. Developing immersive experiences plays perfectly into our skillset as developers, the experience is almost completely driven by the user offering amazing levels of user agency.

To take the cost away from the end user, we’re exploring the opportunities afforded by Location Based / Out Of Home Entertainment. People love new technology, and the growth patterns tend to repeat, we’re still at an early stage but the growth is there. In-home install base is gradually increasing as prices drop and hardware iterates.

We license our technology to a wide range of developers, publishers and other companies in a variety of industries to de-risk their projects.
